The man sits
in the shadow of the sun
Watching the
people just for fun
Walk, push,
shove and run
He counts the
clouds one by one
The waiting
game had begun
No one knows
what he’d done
See the man
who is bad
The man who
is sad
The man
who’d been had
What is the
view like from the thirteenth floor
I’ll take
the moon from your skies
I’ll take
the stars from your eyes
I told the
truth, they told lies
See yourself
tomorrow as you are today
Talking with
nothing else to say
Is this the
price we have to pay
See the man
who is bad
The man who
is sad
The man
who’s been had
What is the
view like from the thirteenth floor
The rest of
his life he will be hid
Inside his
mind he’s just a kid
Can they be
sure he really did
See the man
who is bad
The man who
is sad
The man
who’s been had
What is the
view like from the thirteenth floor
What is the
view like from the thirteenth floor
What is the view like from the thirteenth floor
THOUGHTS OF AN OLD MAN
Early in the
morning as the dawn begins to break
He opens up
his window, feels the sunrise on the lake
Slowly rising
higher as the wind it softly sighs
The sun is
all around him, it’s warming up the sky
Later in the
morning, getting colder, feels like rain
This awful
autumn weather, yes it always is the same
I thought the
sun was too good to be true this time of year
So I’ll sit
down in my armchair and I guess I’ll have a beer
Ba ba ba ba
ba ba ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
ba ba ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
ba ba ba ba ba
Later in the
evening as the sun begins to set
He closes up
the window, turns on the Hi-Fi set
Slowly
sinking lower, hears the wind, it softly cries
Stars are all
around him, warming up the sky
In the
morning
(Nothing much
of sound, nothing ever did)
In the
morning
(Nothing to
be seen since he was a kid)
In the
morning
(Nobody knows
how but the world's been hid)
In the
morning
It’s so sad
It’s so sad
It’s so sad
It’s so sad
